Donald Trump Jr. used his father’s annual Christmas Reception at the White House to announce a significant personal milestone: his engagement to model and socialite Bettina Anderson. The 47-year-old son of President Donald Trump revealed the news during the festive event on Monday night, with his father and future daughter-in-law by his side at the podium. A video of the announcement was shared by Trump loyalist Laura Loomer on X.
“It’s not often that I’m at a loss for words, ‘cause we usually do the ranting and raving really well,” Trump Jr. joked during the announcement, bringing lightheartedness to the moment. He then thanked Anderson “for that one word, ‘yes’,” reflecting on his nervousness in asking the important question.
“When you go down there, it’s like, you’re gonna go, and you’re trying to ask, and you’re not sure what the answer’s gonna be. It’s always a little bit rough. But she said yes, which is a big win for the end of the year,” Trump Jr. added with a smile.
The announcement marks a new chapter for Trump Jr., who was first linked to the 38-year-old Anderson in September 2024, shortly after he ended his engagement to Kimberley Guilfoyle, 56, a former Fox News personality who had previously been married to California Governor Gavin Newsom, according to the Daily Beast.

Trump Jr. and his first wife, model Vanessa Haydon, were married in 2005 and had five children together before divorcing in 2018. Vanessa is now in a relationship with professional golfer Tiger Woods.
Anderson briefly spoke at the White House event, expressing her gratitude for the Christmas decorations designed by First Lady Melania Trump. “These decorations, am I right?,” Anderson said with a smile. “Unbelievable.” She then shared her joy, adding, “The most unforgettable weekend of my life, and I get to marry the love of my life, and I feel this, like, the luckiest girl in the world, so thank you.”
The couple’s engagement comes after months of public appearances together, marking several key moments in the Trump family’s social calendar. Anderson, the daughter of Palm Beach society couple Harry Loy Anderson Jr., a banker, and Inger Anderson, an immigrant from Sweden, first appeared publicly with Trump Jr. at President Trump’s inauguration in January. The couple was seen holding hands and dancing to the MAGA anthem “YMCA” at the Turning Point USA Inaugural-Eve ball on January 19.
Since then, the couple has been spotted at various events, including the 2025 Super Bowl and the White House Easter Egg Roll. They also attended the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary military parade in June. In July, Anderson traveled with Trump Jr. and two of his children to Scotland, further solidifying their relationship in the public eye.
The announcement has sparked widespread attention, though the White House has not yet responded to a request for comment from The Daily Beast.
As Trump Jr. and Anderson prepare for their wedding, the couple’s journey has already been marked by significant milestones in both their personal lives and public appearances. Their engagement adds another layer to the Trump family’s ongoing visibility in the public sphere, with the upcoming wedding likely to be another major event in the media spotlight.
