Prince Andrew Under Public Pressure for ‘Another Show of Punishment’ After New Giuffre Revelations, Says Royal Expert

King Charles is reportedly facing mounting pressure to take firm action against his younger brother, Prince Andrew, as public scrutiny intensifies following new revelations from Virginia Giuffre’s forthcoming memoir.

According to royal sources, the King may have little choice but to strip Andrew of what remains of his royal privileges amid renewed outrage over his past association with the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Prince Andrew has long denied allegations that he sexually assaulted Giuffre, who claims she was trafficked by Epstein as a teenager. However, excerpts from her upcoming book have reignited controversy, placing fresh strain on the monarchy and raising questions about the Duke of York’s continued residence at Royal Lodge and his role within royal circles.

Royal expert Jennie Bond told The Mirror, “I think things have reached such a state now, with the latest excerpts from Virginia Giuffre’s book, that the public wants another show of punishment for Andrew.”

Bond suggested that while it may be legally complex to remove the Duke from Royal Lodge, the King could take other decisive steps. “It seems impossible to force him out of Royal Lodge, but he could certainly be removed from the Order of the Garter,” she said.

The Order of the Garter, one of Britain’s oldest and most prestigious chivalric honors, has been a point of contention since Andrew’s withdrawal from public royal duties in 2019. Though stripped of his official roles and patronages following his civil settlement with Giuffre in 2022, he remains a Knight of the Garter — a status that critics argue is inconsistent with the King’s efforts to modernize and protect the monarchy’s reputation.

Bond acknowledged that the situation places King Charles in a deeply uncomfortable position. “It is a hideous quandary for the King, but Andrew’s association with Epstein — who so grievously preyed on young girls — is now tainting the monarchy and all the good work it does. Something has to be done,” she said.

She added that symbolic measures might not be enough to satisfy public demand for accountability. “Banning him from shoots etc, would be another humiliation, for sure. But is it enough?” Bond questioned.

The latest revelations have renewed debate about how far King Charles is willing to go to distance the royal family from scandal. With public opinion increasingly unforgiving, pressure continues to mount for a clear and decisive resolution to the so-called “Prince Andrew problem.”
