Blake Lively is opening up about the emotional weight she’s been carrying during what she calls one of the most difficult chapters of her life — and how her family has been her saving grace throughout it all.
During a heartfelt appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers Thursday night, the 37-year-old actress spoke candidly about the personal challenges she’s faced this past year, which include an ongoing legal dispute with actor and producer Justin Baldoni. While Lively didn’t go into specifics about the legal battle, she acknowledged its toll on her mental and emotional well-being.

“It’s no surprise, I have had a pretty intense year. They’re just my lifeline. No matter what day I am having,” Lively said, referring to her four children with husband Ryan Reynolds — James, 10, Inez, 8, Betty, 5, and their youngest, 2-year-old son Olin, reports Page Six.
“I have to be Disneyland for them,” she added with a smile. “It’s the best, it’s chaos.” Despite juggling motherhood and a legal firestorm, Lively maintained her signature blend of vulnerability and grace, even calling the situation one of the “lowest lows of my life.” But her experience has also inspired her to speak out on behalf of women who might feel silenced by fear or circumstances.

“I see so many women around afraid to speak, especially now, afraid to share their experience. Fear is by design, it’s what keeps us silent,” she said. “But I also acknowledge that many people don’t have the opportunity to speak, so I do feel fortunate that I have been able to.”

Lively’s remarks offered a rare glimpse into the emotional toll of navigating public and private battles, all while parenting four young children. Still, she made it clear that her role as a mother keeps her grounded — and energized — no matter what else is happening in her life.
Through it all, Lively’s strength and sense of humor shine. Because, as she put it, when you’re “playing Disneyland” for your kids every day, the show must go on — even when life throws in a few unscripted plot twists.
