Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, is reportedly considering releasing a new memoir, but royal commentators are skeptical that it will contain any shocking royal revelations.
According to The Mirror, royal expert Jennie Bond believes that while Ferguson may share more about her personal life, she is unlikely to expose private details about the royal family. Bond noted that Ferguson’s past books have focused on her own challenges and growth rather than the inner workings of the monarchy.
“Her previous books have been critical of herself, rather than the royal family,” Bond explained. “She’s always expressed deep admiration and love for the late Queen, and affection and gratitude for Charles.”

Ferguson, affectionately known as “Fergie,” was married to Prince Andrew from 1986 until their separation in 1992 and eventual divorce in 1996. Despite their split, the two have maintained a close friendship, even continuing to live together at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.
When asked about her reaction to the reports that Ferguson might be working on an autobiography, Bond said, “My first reaction is, ‘Oh, she wouldn’t dare, would she?’” She added, “But then I suppose nothing should surprise us about that couple.”
Bond went on to express doubt that Ferguson would use the opportunity to “dish the dirt” on her royal connections, saying that the duchess has always shown respect and loyalty toward the late Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III. “So I find it hard to believe that she would dish the dirt in a new book. But then this royal saga never ceases to amaze me!” she said.
Ferguson, 64, has written several books over the years, including memoirs, self-help titles, and children’s stories. Her previous autobiography, Finding Sarah, published in 2011, reflected on her personal struggles, financial troubles, and journey toward self-acceptance.

In recent years, she has also focused on her writing career, releasing historical romance novels such as Her Heart for a Compass and A Most Intriguing Lady. While details about the rumored memoir remain unconfirmed, royal watchers say that if published, it could offer insight into her life post-divorce, her bond with her daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, and her continued role within royal circles.
Still, experts agree that any forthcoming book is likely to emphasize positivity and personal growth rather than controversy—consistent with Ferguson’s public image as someone who has learned from her past and maintained enduring ties to the royal family.
