Sources close to Lopez say she remains emotionally attached to Affleck despite their marriage officially ending months ago.
Lopez and Affleck famously rekindled their romance in 2021, nearly two decades after calling off their 2004 engagement. The couple tied the knot in 2022, marking what fans described as a real-life second chance at love. However, their whirlwind reunion came to an abrupt end when they filed for divorce in 2024, which was finalized in January 2025.
“Living in the house they bought together is so unhealthy,” an insider told the outlet. “One thing about Jennifer is she’s incredibly stubborn. When she’s convinced of something, she won’t quit.” The source explained that Lopez’s determination, which has fueled her decades-long success in music and film, has also made it difficult for her to emotionally detach from Affleck.
“It’s one of the secrets of her massive success and a great trait in that sense,” the insider said, “but it’s not a positive thing when it comes to her love life. It’s keeping her stuck.” Friends reportedly worry that Lopez’s efforts to win back Affleck are keeping her from moving forward.
