Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce recently shared their admiration for Blake Lively’s performance in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants during the first episode of their new podcast, New Heights Film Club. The NFL stars, who have both ventured into podcasting beyond their football careers, took time to review the 2005 coming-of-age film and had plenty of compliments for the actress.
“It is also the film debut of our friend Blake Lively. She killed it. Absolutely wonderful,” Jason said enthusiastically during the discussion. “Killed it,” added Travis. “I might be a little biased, but I thought Bridget’s story was the most relatable and probably the most fun.”
Lively played Bridget Vreeland, a confident and athletic teenager who spends her summer at a soccer camp in Mexico. Jason offered an in-depth take on her portrayal, noting, “Bridget, she kind of struck me as obviously tall, strong, bold, beautiful, and athletic.”

Despite their praise, the brothers couldn’t resist a bit of teasing about one aspect of Lively’s performance. “I’ve got to admit, not the best run. Blake, I love you, it does not strike me as a star athlete run,” Jason joked, referring to the character’s running scenes throughout the movie.
Travis jumped in to defend her, responding, “But it was impressive. She has good endurance, though, because running like that and talking? I would be fucking gassed and would be way worse at trying to spit my lines out.”
Released on May 31, 2005, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants became a fan favorite, telling the story of four best friends who share a pair of jeans that somehow fits each of them perfectly, despite their different body types. The film helped launch Blake Lively’s acting career before she rose to global fame on Gossip Girl and later in feature films such as The Age of Adaline and A Simple Favor.

The Kelce brothers’ lighthearted review reflects their growing presence in pop culture beyond sports, as their podcast continues to attract fans for its mix of humor, insight, and celebrity connections.
It’s worth noting that Blake Lively’s close friendship with Travis’s girlfriend, pop superstar Taylor Swift, has reportedly cooled after Lively was drawn into a legal dispute involving actor Justin Baldoni. Still, the brothers’ discussion focused squarely on Lively’s early work, with both expressing genuine appreciation for her breakout performance.
