Ben Affleck recently shared heartfelt praise for his eldest daughter, Violet, while attending the premiere of Jennifer Lopez’s upcoming film Kiss of the Spider Woman. The actor and producer said he is proud of all three of his children, whom he shares with his ex-wife, actress Jennifer Garner.
When asked specifically about Violet, Affleck’s face lit up. “She takes after her mom. She’s spectacular,” he said, describing his daughter as “the joy” of his life. Affleck added, “I’m very lucky that I got a great partner and we’ve got great kids. It makes me happy every day.”
Affleck and Garner, who divorced in 2018 after more than a decade of marriage, share three children: Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel. Despite the separation, both have remained dedicated co-parents, often seen together at family events, supporting their children, according to Us Weekly.
Following his divorce, Affleck rekindled his relationship with Lopez in 2021, nearly two decades after their first engagement ended in 2004. The couple married in 2022, but their reunion was short-lived. In August 2024, Lopez filed for divorce after two years of marriage.
Even amid their separation, Affleck and Lopez reunited publicly at the red carpet premiere of Kiss of the Spider Woman. Lopez stars in the film’s leading role, while Affleck’s production company, Artists Equity, helped produce it. Their joint appearance drew attention, marking a rare public moment of collaboration since their split.
Speaking with Extra at the event, Affleck praised Lopez’s dedication to her craft. “She worked enormously hard,” he said. “You’ve got to see, like, all of her many gifts. She’s somebody who grew up watching classic musicals.”
The film, based on the acclaimed stage production, showcases Lopez as a performer returning to her dramatic roots. Industry insiders have already highlighted the project as one of her most ambitious roles in years.
