As reported by GB News, royal commentator Sarah Hewson told The Times that the success of the reconciliation efforts will be determined by how King Charles chooses to proceed, and under what conditions the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are welcomed back into the fold.
“It really depends on how they (Harry and Meghan) come back, and on what terms,” Hewson explained. “It would really take Charles as the King to pave the way for them coming back.” The meeting between aides representing King Charles and Prince Harry, held recently in London, has been described as a “first step towards reconciliation,” though insiders admit that it remains only a tentative move.
“But at least it is a step in the right direction,” one source stated, suggesting the door to healing may be open, though not without challenges. Notably absent from these preliminary discussions was Prince William. The Prince of Wales, who is reported to be estranged from his younger brother, was neither invited to the talks nor represented by his team.
According to insiders, William and Harry remain not on speaking terms, and several sources have suggested that the heir to the throne may never be able to forgive his brother for past grievances, including the explosive revelations made in Harry’s memoir Spare and the couple’s interviews following their departure from royal life in 2020.
Royal expert Helena Chard added to the concerns, telling Fox News Digital: “Without Prince William’s inclusion in the rapprochement, I can’t see a positive outcome. It could also cause a wedge between Charles and William, despite the king most certainly consulting with William.”
