A Memphis family is mourning the tragic loss of Terrica Tabor, a 29-year-old mother of three who was gunned down last week in Southwest Memphis, leaving her young children to grow up without their mother. The heartbreaking details were shared by Tabor’s aunt, who spoke with FOX13 but chose not to appear on camera out of fear of retaliation.

“She was a good mom. No one deserves to be raised to lose their parents in such a tragedy,” her aunt said tearfully. Memphis Police confirmed that officers responded to a reported shooting around 9 p.m. in the 2900 block of South Third Street. Upon arrival, they found Tabor in critical condition.

She was rushed to Regional One Health, where she later succumbed to her injuries. “It was the sharpest pain in my heart because I thought, ‘What about the children? What about her kids?” her aunt shared, describing the devastating impact Tabor’s death has had on her loved ones.

Tabor’s children, including a 10-year-old, are now trying to cope with their mother’s violent and sudden death. “Mentally wise, it’s been hard for the 10-year-old because she misses her mom and she knows she was killed,” said the aunt.

According to police, the suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. Surveillance footage from a nearby business captured a woman—believed to be the suspect—dressed in all black with a hoodie, walking near the area at the time of the shooting.

FOX13 asked Tabor’s aunt if she had any idea who may have been responsible. She claimed that the suspect was a close friend of Tabor’s, though police have not confirmed this information publicly.

“I just pray we get justice, and they find her,” the aunt said. “So nobody else will have to go through losing a family member or a child having to live without their parents.”

As of now, no arrests have been made. Memphis Police continue to investigate and are urging anyone with information to come forward. If you recognize the suspect or have any relevant details, contact CrimeStoppers at 901-528-CASH.

In the meantime, a grieving family and three innocent children are left to pick up the pieces after the senseless loss of a devoted mother whose life was cut tragically short.
