An 18-year-old woman from Georgia has been left paralyzed following a horrifying road-rage shooting on Interstate 20, which doctors say has given her only a 10% chance of walking again.
Keira Stroup was shot in the back on June 29 while riding as a passenger in a gray Toyota Camry near mile marker 196. The vehicle, driven by 18-year-old Ahmad Moss, came under fire in an unprovoked highway confrontation that authorities now say was an act of road rage.
Stroup was rushed into emergency spinal surgery on Thursday, but the bullet damage was severe. The gunshot caused a collapsed lung and critical spinal trauma. According to her family, doctors have warned that her chances of regaining the ability to walk are slim.
“She’s facing a long and difficult recovery,” her family said in a public statement, noting that a fundraiser has been launched on GiveSendGo to help cover Keira’s growing medical and rehabilitation expenses.
According to investigators, the gunman was 17-year-old Cameron Howard, who allegedly opened fire from a blue Tesla driven by 17-year-old Miranda Myers. Moss was also injured, sustaining a gunshot wound to the ankle. Both Stroup and Moss were transported to Doctors Hospital for treatment.

Howard and Myers are now facing multiple felony charges. Both have been charged with two counts of aggravated assault, while Howard faces an additional charge of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Incident Details Emerge
Law enforcement reports reveal that the shooting occurred after the Tesla pulled alongside the Camry while traveling westbound on I-20. Witnesses say Myers began yelling at Moss before Howard allegedly pulled out a Glock 23 handgun and fired at least six rounds into the Camry.
One bullet struck Stroup in the spine and exited through her right shoulder. The Tesla fled the scene, but it was later located in Grovetown. Howard initially fled on foot but was apprehended shortly after. Myers remained at the scene and reportedly identified Howard as the shooter.
Authorities also revealed that Howard has a prior arrest from April for allegedly assaulting a 16-year-old girl. Myers does not have any known criminal history.
As the legal proceedings move forward, the community is rallying around Keira Stroup and her family, offering both emotional and financial support during what her loved ones are calling the most difficult time of their lives.
