A federal judge sharply criticized attorney Mark Geragos, who is loosely tied to Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal team, for making what the court called a “ridiculous” and racially charged comment during a recent podcast appearance.
According to court transcripts obtained by The New York Post, the controversy stems from Geragos’s remark on an episode of the 2 Angry Men podcast, which he co-hosts with TMZ founder Harvey Levin. During the episode, Geragos referred to the prosecution team as “a six-pack of white women.”

The comment did not sit well with U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian, who confronted Geragos in a closed-door session on Tuesday, May 6. “I think referring to the prosecution in this case as a six-pack of white women is outrageous,” the judge told Geragos. “This would not be tolerated in any court from any lawyer anywhere across the nation.”
Geragos defended the remark, claiming it was intended to observe what Combs allegedly feels is a racially motivated investigation. “It’s an observation,” Geragos said in court, adding that he was expressing Combs’ belief that he’s being “targeted” because he’s Black.
However, Combs’ official legal team has already agreed that it will not pursue a defense based on selective prosecution or invoke comparisons to uncharged white public figures. This stance distorts the primary defense strategy from Geragos’ podcast commentary.

Though Geragos is not officially listed as part of Combs’ defense team, he disclosed in court that he is working closely with Combs’ mother, Janice, and has been present during the early stages of the trial. Jury selection officially began on May 5.

The judge, while concluding the exchange on a lighter note, made it clear that he would be monitoring Geragos’ public statements going forward. “I’m going to be watching and I’m going to be listening… You have one more listener for your podcast,” Subramanian said.
Geragos responded with a chuckle, “As long as you subscribe, I’m all for it.” Despite the brief moment of levity, the gravity of the case remains. Sean “Diddy” Combs faces life in prison if convicted on the charges brought against him. The trial continues to draw national attention, not just for the charges, but also for the heated commentary and controversy surrounding it.
