The post featured a photo of Gypsy-Rose smiling widely alongside Dr. Michelle Corcoran, the dentist behind the transformation. The video also included detailed images of the interior of her mouth, showing the dramatic change from missing and silver teeth to her new, bright replacements. According to People, her mother, Claudine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, had previously convinced doctors to remove several of Gypsy-Rose’s teeth, along with her salivary glands, under the false pretense that her daughter was suffering from severe tooth decay.
This was part of a larger pattern of medical abuse, as Dee Dee subjected Gypsy-Rose to unnecessary surgeries and treatments under the guise of Munchausen by proxy—a condition in which a caregiver fabricates or induces illness in someone under their care.
Gypsy-Rose spent much of her childhood and young adulthood believing she was gravely ill, all due to her mother’s manipulation. Dee Dee’s actions led to numerous unnecessary medical procedures, including the removal of Gypsy-Rose’s teeth and salivary glands. Reflecting on this in a December 2023 interview, Gypsy-Rose described the removal of her salivary glands as the most painful and unnecessary surgery she had undergone.
After nearly nine years in prison for her involvement in her mother’s 2015 murder, Gypsy-Rose has been working to rebuild her life. This latest dental transformation marks a symbolic step forward for her, allowing her to regain confidence and reclaim a part of her physical appearance that was damaged by years of medical abuse.
