Prince William has reportedly drawn a firm boundary with King Charles following the monarch’s recent reunion with Prince Harry, according to a new report from RadarOnline. A palace insider claimed that the Prince of Wales issued a direct ultimatum to his father, allegedly saying, “It’s me or Harry.”
The tension comes after King Charles held a private meeting with Harry in London earlier in September, shortly after the King’s cancer diagnosis. While the meeting was seen by some as an attempt to reconcile, it appears to have deepened divisions within the royal family.
“William’s not about ‘I told you so’ or revenge – he’s completely focused on what’s best for the family,” the source said. “William takes his role as protector to the King very seriously. William made it clear to Charles that he wants him to start taking his advice and warnings more seriously. William has seen Harry’s wild side,” the insider added.

The source went on to explain that while William disagrees with his brother’s behavior, he understands Harry in a way few others do. “He’s also one of the few who understands Harry strategically and less emotionally,” the insider said.
Following what was described as a “peace talk” between Harry and his father, the Duke of Sussex gave another interview to a British media outlet where he appeared to defend past comments made about his family.
“I don’t believe that I aired my dirty laundry in public. It was a difficult message, but I did it in the best way possible. My conscience is clear,” Harry said, referring to his 2023 memoir Spare, which revealed personal details about royal life and his strained relationship with the family.

According to the palace source, William felt the interview confirmed his fears. “The fact Charles got burned less than a week after his meeting with Harry was almost to the letter what William predicted would happen,” the insider claimed. “William thinks it’s foolish to let it happen again.”
The report suggests that the Prince of Wales is urging his father to maintain distance from Harry until the Duke proves he can be trusted not to speak publicly about private royal matters.
While Buckingham Palace has not commented on the claims, royal observers say this latest rift highlights the continued strain between the brothers—and the difficult balancing act facing the King as both father and monarch.
