Tensions between Prince William and Prince Harry have reportedly reignited after the Duke of Sussex announced a tour of Canada that coincides with the Earthshot Prize Awards — one of Prince William’s most high-profile events of the year.
According to palace insiders, the timing of Harry’s trip has infuriated his older brother and is being viewed by some as a deliberate provocation. “It’s come across as Harry deliberately picking a fight,” one palace aide told RadarOnline.

“Announcing an overlapping overseas trip just as William landed feels like a pointed move. In royal terms, clashing schedules are a serious breach — the calendar is treated almost like a matter of state.” Another source noted that Harry would have been aware of his brother’s tour schedule long before his own announcement.
“It’s difficult to see this as a coincidence. Harry would’ve known William’s tour dates well in advance — they’ve been locked in for ages,” the insider said. “Whether he meant to or not, the timing signals that he’s doing things entirely on his own terms and won’t be managed by the Palace.”
The situation has reportedly caused frustration inside the royal household. “This week was meant to belong to William — it was a major spotlight for the Earthshot project,” a former royal aide explained. “But almost as soon as he started his first event, the focus swung straight to Harry. You can guess the reaction — people were livid.”

Prince Harry’s spokesperson, however, denied any suggestion of a deliberate clash, insisting the trip to Canada had been planned well in advance. “The plans for the Canadian tour were made nearly a year ago,” the spokesperson said. “The date of the main event, the dinner, is set by the charity, not Prince Harry. The period of Remembrance traditionally extends from 1–11 November and has been observed for over a century. He can’t choose to move those dates.”
The statement also emphasized that Harry’s team coordinates travel announcements based on safety guidance. “We are always guided by the advice of his private security advisers and the event’s security team,” it read. “The visit, months in the planning, marks a return to a city that has a special place in the Duke’s heart, having hosted the Invictus Games back in 2017.”
