Prince Harry’s close friends have revealed that the Duke of Sussex is showing signs of deep homesickness, sparking speculation that he may be yearning for life back in the United Kingdom.
According to The Standard, Harry’s old school friends, who still affectionately call him “Spike,” say he has been reaching out to them more frequently in recent months.
“He’s started reaching out to us more and more,” one friend told the outlet. “It started with very long and earnest WhatsApps. We actually all made a decision when we started getting them not to take the p*** out of them.”

The friend admitted that such behavior would have been unthinkable a few years ago. “This is something we couldn’t have imagined doing a few years ago. Anyway, gradually, he seems to be sounding more normal.”
They added that whenever someone from their circle travels to the United States, they make an effort to see Harry. But, notably, the meetings rarely include Meghan. “It never seems to be with Meghan, though. We think he is beginning to pine for home,” the friend concluded.
Alongside the comments from Harry’s pals, a royal courtier also offered insight into the prince’s relationship with his father, King Charles. According to the palace insider, “Harry seems to have forgotten this, but his father always absolutely adored him. He always called him ‘my darling boy’ and was so affectionate.”
The source emphasized that Harry inherited much of his warmth from Charles, not just from his late mother, Princess Diana. “People always seem to think that Harry inherited all his charm from his mother, but lots of the things he is good at, being attentive and always remembering people’s names, are something that comes directly from the King,” the courtier said.

The remarks come shortly after Harry made a rare solo trip to the UK, where he reunited with his father for a private meeting at Clarence House during the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death.
Though Harry has lived in California with Meghan Markle and their two children since 2020, speculation about his longing for Britain continues to grow. His friends’ comments suggest the prince may be seeking closer connections with his past life, even as tensions within the royal family remain unresolved.
