Princess Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, has started a new chapter in his life after marrying his partner, Professor Cat Jarman.
The 61-year-old Earl Spencer, who is the uncle of Prince William and Prince Harry, tied the knot with Camilla in a private ceremony held in Arizona on Friday. The marriage marks the Earl’s fourth.
Cat, 43, is a Norwegian archaeologist and author. For the ceremony, she wore a white linen dress with heeled shoes and carried a bouquet of white roses. The newlyweds appeared happy and relaxed as they held hands while walking together after exchanging vows.
In a joint statement released Tuesday, the couple confirmed their marriage and reflected on how their relationship developed over time.
“We both feel so incredibly lucky to have progressed from being colleagues, to friendship, to deep love and connection. Each stage of our relationship has been underpinned by laughter and we share a passion for life.”

Charles and Cat have reportedly been together for more than two years. Their connection began through shared professional interests. The Earl was introduced to her 2021 book, River Kings, after she asked him to review it, and the pair later worked together on archaeological projects.
They have also collaborated beyond the field, launching a podcast together and taking part in archaeological digs. Their wedding comes after Cat’s legal case against Charles’ former wife, Countess Spencer, was settled in December last year.
Two months ago, it was reported that Charles and Karen Spencer had finalized their divorce. The former couple married in 2011 and share one child, Lady Charlotte. Karen previously confirmed on Instagram that she had moved out of Althorp, the Spencer family estate in Northamptonshire, around a year after their separation.
Charles was first married to Victoria Aitken. The couple wed in 1989 and divorced in 1997 after eight years of marriage. They spent much of their married life in South Africa and share four children: Lady Kitty, 35, twins Lady Eliza and Lady Amelia, 33, and Viscount Louis, 32.
His second marriage was to Caroline Freud, the former wife of businessman Matthew Freud. Charles and Caroline were married for six years and have two children together, the Hon. Edmund, 22, and Lady Lara, 19.
Now, with his marriage to Cat, Charles has entered a new stage in both his personal and professional life, one shaped by shared interests, companionship and what the couple described as “deep love and connection.”
