A royal expert has delved into the possibility of Prince Harry penning another book akin to his memoir “Spare,” shedding light on the aftermath of the memoir’s release and its impact on his relationship with his father, King Charles, particularly concerning his criticism of Queen Camilla.

In January 2023, Prince Harry unveiled his highly anticipated memoir, “Spare,” which swiftly soared to prominence, breaking several U.K. sales records and claiming top spots on numerous bestseller lists. However, the memoir’s success was accompanied by significant repercussions, notably strains on Harry’s relationship with King Charles following his candid criticisms of Queen Camilla.

“I can’t see that Harry’s up for writing another book,” said royal expert Ingrid Seward in an interview with Honey Nine. She added, “But you know, Charles has such a busy life; there’s so much going on. I don’t think he’s holding a grudge against Harry; I just think he’s withdrawn from Harry.”

Despite assertions by Prince Harry that he possesses ample material for a potential follow-up memoir, a royal expert suggests that the Duke of Sussex may not be inclined to undertake another literary endeavor. This reluctance, according to the expert, could stem from Harry’s reluctance to divulge details surrounding his visit to his father after the latter’s cancer diagnosis.

“I have complex feelings about gaining a step-parent who I thought had recently sacrificed me on her personal PR altar,” he wrote of her in his book, per the Daily Mail. Harry said of Camilla: “She was the villain. She was a third person in their [my parents’] marriage, she needed to rehabilitate her image. That made her dangerous because of the connections that she was forging within the British press.”

While the possibility of Prince Harry publishing another memoir may be uncertain, speculation abounds regarding Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, potentially penning her own memoir, an idea that has been a subject of speculation on multiple occasions.

In an interview, the royal expert asserted that Harry’s first memoir had “damaged” his relationship with his father, an already strained bond exacerbated by Harry’s decision to step back from his senior royal role in 2020 and relocate to the United States. The expert suggests that King Charles may be maintaining a distance from Harry to avoid inadvertently providing material for future criticisms. “Her philosophy is always, ‘Don’t make a thing of it and it will settle down—least said, soonest mended.” the source added per Newsweek.

Furthermore, criticisms directed at Queen Camilla within Harry’s memoir are deemed by the expert as “very stupid,” suggesting that such remarks did not enhance the book’s narrative. Notably, Prince Harry accused Queen Camilla of leaking stories about him and his family to the press, a claim he reiterated during his appearance on Anderson Cooper’s “60 Minutes” show.

Following the release of “Spare,” insiders revealed King Charles’ distress over Harry’s comments regarding Queen Camilla, indicating that the disclosures had placed him in a precarious position. Despite the fallout, sources close to Queen Camilla suggested that she chose not to dignify the remarks, adopting a philosophy of nonchalance in response to the situation.

In a separate development, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle addressed the controversy surrounding a Mother’s Day photo posted by Kensington Palace, with reports surfacing that an unofficial source from the couple’s camp had commented on the matter. However, a spokesperson from the Sussexes’ Archewell Foundation promptly refuted these claims, asserting that the remarks did not originate from their official channels.
