King Charles is reportedly growing weary of renewed royal tensions following recent remarks made by Meghan Markle during the promotion of her Netflix show, With Love, Meghan. The Duchess of Sussex’s comments about being more “authentic” and her experiences within the royal family have reportedly sparked fresh frustration at Buckingham Palace.
While promoting the second season of her show, Meghan was asked whether holding a royal title made it difficult for her to stay relatable. She responded, “No, I don’t find… I’m just being myself.” She then added, “So I think, probably, it was different several years ago when I couldn’t be as vocal. I had to wear nude pantyhose all the time. Let’s be honest, that was not very me.”
The remarks, which many interpreted as a subtle criticism of royal traditions, are said to have unsettled members of the royal family. According to Radar Online, King Charles believes comments like these make it increasingly difficult to rebuild trust with Meghan and Prince Harry.

“For King Charles, this kind of thing is wearying,” a palace insider told the outlet. “Charles has tried to take a gentle, dignified approach with Harry and Meghan, but when she keeps making digs like this, it chips away at any chance of rebuilding trust.”
The source added that while Meghan’s comments may not be intended to offend, they still cause harm. “It’s not malicious, but it’s thoughtless – and the royal family sees that as just as damaging,” they explained.
The renewed controversy has also reportedly disappointed Prince William, who had once hoped for reconciliation with his younger brother. “The future king once hoped there might be a way back for his brother and Meghan, but moments like this make it harder to believe,” the insider said.
Royal observers note that the strain between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family continues to deepen despite occasional efforts at diplomacy. The fallout from Meghan’s remarks has reminded many of the unresolved tensions that have persisted since the couple stepped back from royal duties in 2020.

“It’s a tragedy, really – Harry and William’s mother would have wanted the family united, but that’s never going to happen now,” the source added. As King Charles focuses on his reign and public responsibilities, insiders suggest he is increasingly reluctant to engage in disputes that reignite old wounds. However, Meghan’s public comments once again appear to have reopened long-standing divisions within the royal household.
