The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, has reportedly sent a “loud and clear” message to Prince Harry, according to royal commentator Duncan Larcombe.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, Larcombe suggested that the lack of public acknowledgment from Kate and Prince William on Harry’s 41st birthday was deliberate. The move, he said, signals the couple’s ongoing hurt over Harry’s past actions.
Prince Harry marked his birthday on September 15, but unlike other royal birthdays, the Prince and Princess of Wales did not issue a public message. Larcombe believes this silence carried more weight than any formal statement.

“Kate’s silence spoke a thousand words,” he explained. “They didn’t post anything on his birthday, which the royals normally would do. So Kate’s message was loud and clear: the ball’s not in our court, Harry – it’s in yours.”
The expert went on to describe the couple’s choice as a strategic response shaped by protocol. “They have kept silent throughout all of this and rolled with all the punches, so they’re forced into subtle, secret messaging – which is what this seems to be,” Larcombe said.
“They’re not prepared to call Harry’s bluff by sending him joyful birthday wishes, so they remain silent and avoid him at all costs.”

According to him, both Kate and William are constrained by strict royal rules. Direct criticism of Harry and Meghan is not possible, leaving them to rely on understated signals. “Neither Kate nor William can speak out publicly about Harry and Meghan,” he noted.
This absence of a public message, Larcombe added, can be seen as the Waleses making their position clear without breaking royal protocol. While the rift within the family remains private in official terms, silence itself has become a form of communication. In this case, it seems the Prince and Princess of Wales allowed their silence to do the talking.
