A royal commentator claims there is a deeper motive behind Prince Harry’s recent offer to support Princess Eugenie as pressure mounts around her father, Prince Andrew. The Duke of Sussex has reportedly stepped in after renewed public calls for Eugenie to lose her royal titles, offering her a way out of the increasingly stressful environment.
Closer Magazine reports that Harry and Meghan Markle have encouraged Eugenie to visit the United States or even think about relocating closer to them. An insider said the couple believes she and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, would benefit from a fresh start away from the turmoil that surrounds the royal institution.
“At this stage, Harry and Meghan are working on getting her and Jack over for a visit, and once they’re face-to-face, he’s going to launch into a hard sell for them to make the move permanently,” the insider said. The source added that the couple views the current royal climate as unhealthy for Eugenie and Jack.

“They both say life is too short to stay stuck in a toxic environment, and they feel like Eugenie and Jack could really thrive if they take the leap over to America,” they said. Princess Eugenie has long been considered one of Harry’s closest relatives. The two have maintained a warm relationship despite the wider family tensions, and she has visited the Sussexes in California in the past.
According to the insider, Harry’s offer comes from a place of genuine concern for her well-being. Even so, the move may carry political weight within the royal family. While the source insisted Harry is not acting out of rivalry, helping Eugenie through the crisis could be perceived as a strategic advantage in his strained relationship with Prince William.
“If they do, it will go down like a lead balloon with William, who will no doubt see it as them siding with Harry,” the insider said. The idea of Eugenie relocating near Harry might deepen existing divisions, especially if William interprets it as a symbolic shift in loyalty.

The insider added that Harry is not trying to score points, but he wouldn’t be entirely immune to feeling validated if the situation played in his favor. “But that’s not the motivation for Harry; he genuinely wants them in his world, but of course, it will be satisfying if he can get a ‘win’ over this brother,” they said.
As the royal family continues to navigate public criticism and internal tension, Harry’s gesture toward Eugenie highlights how personal bonds are shaping decisions behind the scenes. Whether Eugenie and Jack will consider a permanent move remains uncertain, but the invitation has sparked fresh debate about shifting allegiances within the monarchy.
