Legendary Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman, who also resides in the upscale neighborhood, recently opened up about his relationship, or lack thereof, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Speaking to Us Weekly, Aikman made it clear that while Harry and Meghan may share a ZIP code with him, they certainly don’t share a social circle. “I haven’t run into them. But they are there, from what I can gather. I think anyone with a heartbeat knows that they’re out there. But I’m not hanging with them, that’s for sure,” Aikman said. Adding a hint of humor, he commented: “I don’t think they’re drinking much light beer.”
His remarks add to the ongoing media scrutiny surrounding Harry and Meghan’s life in the United States. Since stepping down from their royal duties in 2020 and relocating to California, the couple has sought a more private and independent life. “I don’t think that we’ll see King Charles do this because he’s not confrontational,” Schofield explained during the segment with presenter Gabriella Power. She went on to suggest that Prince William may take a far different approach once he ascends the throne.
“You just wait until Prince William is King. I think he’s going to put his handsome foot down, and he is going to rock Meghan Markle’s world. Meghan Markle is going to be humbled very quickly,” she added. As rumors swirl about the Sussexes’ future roles—both within and outside of the royal family—Aikman’s comments offer a rare glimpse into how the couple is perceived even in their immediate surroundings.
