Trump celebrates victory calls out liars in mainstream media

President Donald Trump has reignited his long-standing feud with mainstream television networks, taking aim at NBC and ABC in a pair of scathing posts on Truth Social this weekend. Trump labeled the networks “political pawns for the Democratic party” and suggested that their licenses “could, and should, be revoked” due to what he described as blatant partisan bias.

Trump’s tirade came shortly after he criticized Oprah Winfrey and Beyoncé for their campaign appearances supporting Vice President Kamala Harris, insinuating the Harris campaign had paid the celebrities for their endorsements. Following that, Trump turned his focus to NBC, writing, “Wow, ‘Concast’s’ NBC is down in viewership almost 28% this year. Their programming is terrible, their management even worse.”

He added, “They are an arm of the Democrat Party, and should be held accountable for that. Likewise, Fake News ABC!!!” In a follow-up post, Trump intensified his rhetoric, stating, “Networks aren’t allowed to be political pawns for the Democrat Party. It has become so outrageous that, in my opinion, their licenses could, and should, be revoked!”

Recent viewership rankings show ABC in second place behind Fox News, with CBS and NBC trailing in third and fourth positions, respectively. Trump’s attacks come on the heels of a legal victory over CBS News’ parent company, Paramount, which recently settled a lawsuit filed by the president. Paramount agreed to pay $16 million to resolve a $20 billion lawsuit stemming from a 60 Minutes interview featuring Vice President Harris.

Trump celebrated the settlement on Truth Social, proclaiming, “This is another in a long line of VICTORIES over the Fake News Media, who we are holding to account for their widespread fraud and deceit.” He continued, “The Wall Street Journal, The Failing New York Times, The Washington Post, MSDNC, CNN, and all other Mainstream Media Liars, are ON NOTICE that the days of them being allowed to deceive the American People are OVER.”

The former president has also filed a new $10 billion lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal, alleging defamation over a published story referencing a letter he allegedly sent to Jeffrey Epstein for a birthday book.

Notably, Trump has spared Fox News—often seen as his media ally—from criticism. Earlier this month, he appeared on his daughter-in-law Lara Trump’s show My View with Lara Trump, praising his first six months post-indictment in a friendly 30-minute segment.
