In a recent interview on Moby Pod, a podcast hosted by musician Moby, Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, claimed that his mounting legal challenges are part of a Republican strategy to derail his father’s re-election campaign. As reported by HuffPost, Hunter accused the GOP and right-wing media of targeting him to hurt his father’s presidency.

Hunter asserted that the attacks against him are intended to cause pain to his father that would be unbearable, ultimately undermining Joe Biden’s presidency. He expressed his view that those orchestrating these attacks are driven by their traumas and have chosen to inflict harm on others.

The interview comes amid ongoing investigations by Republicans into President Biden and Hunter, alleging corruption and misuse of power for personal gain, though these claims remain unsubstantiated. Hunter has been keeping a low profile since the release of his biography in 2021, but his life and business dealings are being scrutinized by the media, federal investigators, and the GOP. He is currently facing several federal criminal charges, including nine tax-related offenses, recently brought in California.

During the podcast, Hunter also commented on the behavior of certain Republican politicians, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), who displayed controversial images of him during a committee hearing. Moby expressed admiration for those who can find compassion for figures like Greene and other outspoken Republican representatives.

In response to the House Republicans’ demands for a closed deposition from President Biden, Hunter has called for public testimony instead, wary of potential Republican manipulation. He maintains that his business activities were ethical and blames his legal troubles on past struggles with drug addiction and depression.

Shifting his approach, Hunter is now adopting a more proactive legal and media strategy, including suing Republicans who shared content from an unauthorized hard drive. He explained that his previous silence advised as a strategy to avoid adding to the controversy, is no longer tenable given the intensity of the situation.
