Texas Woman Arrested After Telling Man “The Dog Would Attack” While Impersonating an Officer

A Texas woman has been arrested after allegedly pointing a gun at a man she accused of being an illegal immigrant and falsely claiming she was a police officer. The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office announced on Facebook that Alishia Blevins, 58, was taken into custody on Saturday and charged with making a terroristic threat.

Deputies were called to a property in Kirbyville, where they found a man sitting near his vehicle on a county road. Blevins told officers the man was “an illegal immigrant and was trespassing on her property.” But when deputies investigated, they determined he was legally parked on a public roadway and had never entered her property.

According to the sheriff’s office, the man alleged that Blevins pulled a handgun, ordered him out of his vehicle, and demanded “his proof of insurance, name, cellphone, and keys.” He said she then used his phone to call his wife, during which she allegedly identified herself as a police officer—something investigators later confirmed was untrue.

The man and his wife both gave sworn statements to deputies, further supporting the account. Blevins, authorities said, also claimed her German shepherd was a K-9 officer with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. She allegedly placed the dog inside the man’s vehicle and told him that “the dog would attack” if he tried to leave.

Deputies dismissed her trespassing claim and clarified that the man had remained on public property. However, in their public statement, they noted that immigration authorities had been contacted to determine the man’s legal status. “We will follow the law and all federal statutes,” the sheriff’s office said in its update.

Blevins now faces legal trouble of her own. Along with the terroristic threat charge, law enforcement officials said she may also be charged with impersonating a peace officer. She was booked into the Jasper County Jail on Saturday.

The case has raised questions both about her actions and the treatment of the alleged victim, who was reportedly targeted based on assumptions about his immigration status. For now, the man awaits possible scrutiny from federal officials, while Blevins remains in custody facing serious charges.
