Florida Man Linked to Ex-Girlfriend’s Brutal Stabbing After 3-Year-Old Daughter Found Alone and Bloodied

A 29-year-old Florida man has been arrested in connection with the brutal stabbing death of his ex-girlfriend, police said, after a neighbor discovered the victim’s three-year-old daughter wandering alone with dried blood on her face.

Joy Chandra Nath, 29, faces charges of second-degree murder and child abuse in the killing of 24-year-old Maria Camila Garcia-Molina, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office. The gruesome discovery unfolded Saturday afternoon when a neighbor spotted the toddler walking near her residential complex around 4 p.m.

Authorities said the young girl had blood on her face and clothing. The neighbor brought her to her grandmother, who immediately alerted a sheriff’s deputy. The child later told detectives that her mother had been with a man named Joy and that she was “hit in the head and was now sleeping,” according to an arrest report obtained by CBS News.

Police soon found Garcia-Molina’s body in her car, concealed under blankets on the rear floorboard. She had suffered multiple “sharp force injuries” to her neck, torso, and arms, the report stated. Court records reveal a disturbing history of Nath stalking Garcia-Molina after their five-month relationship ended in November 2024.

She had obtained a restraining order against him, NBC Miami reported. In January, her relatives caught Nath hiding behind trash cans near her home, where he claimed he planned to give her “something.” That same month, Garcia-Molina reported seeing him follow her car and appear unexpectedly in store parking lots.

Tragedy struck just one day after a confrontation between Nath and Garcia-Molina’s new boyfriend at Dolphin Mall. Hours after her body was discovered, investigators still at the crime scene spotted Nath driving toward her complex with his headlights off just after midnight. He told officers he was returning Garcia-Molina’s purse, but police noted fresh scratches and bruises on his face and upper body, CBS News reported.

Nath was taken into custody and claimed he, Garcia-Molina, and her daughter had breakfast together earlier that day. However, evidence contradicted his story. Police recovered the victim’s phone and purse from his vehicle, and cell data showed her phone traveled from her home to Nath’s before ending up at the crime scene.

The Miami Herald reported that Nath allegedly washed his clothes before returning to the scene after Garcia-Molina’s brother called him, asking about her disappearance. The case has sent shockwaves through the community as authorities continue to investigate. Nath remains in custody as prosecutors prepare formal charges.
