Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith Call Lawsuit “A Lot of Crap” as They Push Back Against New Allegations

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are reportedly furious over a $3 million lawsuit filed against Pinkett Smith, a case they believe is fueled by opportunism rather than truth. According to a source close to the couple, the legal battle with Bilaal Salaam has left them both deeply frustrated.

Salaam, also known as Brother Bilaal, filed the suit alleging that Pinkett Smith threatened him in September 2021. He claims the confrontation occurred in the lobby of the Regency Calabasas Commons, where she allegedly warned him that if he continued “telling her personal business,” he would “end up missing or catch a bullet.” The lawsuit further accuses Pinkett Smith of demanding that he sign a nondisclosure agreement and following him to his car while repeating the threats.

A source familiar with the couple’s reaction said they view the accusations as baseless and financially motivated. “They are really mad and say it’s a lot of crap,” the insider shared, describing Salaam as “an opportunistic person out to exploit them.” The source added that the Smiths naturally dislike people in their orbit “talking out of school,” but believe this lawsuit takes things to an extreme.

The complaint also cites a 2023 interview in which Salaam claimed he witnessed Will Smith in a sexual act with actor Duane Martin. Pinkett Smith addressed that allegation at the time, calling it “nonsense” during an appearance on The Breakfast Club. The lawsuit accuses the couple of retaliation as well, an assertion their representatives firmly deny. According to them, the filing is a profit-driven attempt wrapped in sensational accusations.

Pinkett Smith, 54, married Will Smith in 1997. In 2023, the couple revealed they had been separated for seven years, though they continue to publicly support each other. They share two children, Jaden, 27, and Willow, 25. Will Smith also has a son, Trey, 33, from his previous marriage.

As the case moves forward, the Smiths appear determined to fight the claims and clear their names. For now, both are standing united in their belief that the lawsuit is nothing more than a calculated effort to extract money under the guise of shocking allegations.
