Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have quietly gone their separate ways after nearly two decades together. The Oscar-winning actress and the Grammy-winning country star, who met in 2005 and married the following year, have ended their marriage after 19 years.
The couple are parents to two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. According to E!, the pair have been living apart since the beginning of summer. Representatives for both stars were contacted for comment. Two months before their separation became public, Kidman filed paperwork to become a resident of Portugal.
Urban’s name was not included on the application. At the time, a source explained his absence. “Keith was unable to be in Portugal for this appointment as he is currently on tour in the U.S.,” the source said. “It is mandatory for applicants to be physically present in order to apply for the visa. He is scheduled to submit his application at a later date that works with his tour schedule.”

The couple was last photographed together in June at a FIFA Club World Cup 2025 match in Nashville. That same month, Kidman marked their wedding anniversary with an intimate Instagram photo celebrating 19 years of marriage.
Their relationship began with a spark at a gala in January 2005, though Kidman once revealed that Urban was not immediately interested. “I had such a crush on him, and he wasn’t interested in me. It’s true!” she told Ellen DeGeneres in 2017. “He didn’t call me for four months.”
Despite the slow start, the two went on to build a family and a home in Nashville. Urban has often spoken openly about the deep bond they share. “She’s the one that I was searching for my whole life,” he said during a 2020 interview on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast. “And everything not only changed but had to change in me if I was gonna go that road.”

Kidman, who also has two adult children with former husband Tom Cruise, expressed pride in the life they created together in Tennessee. “My roots are deeply embedded here [in Nashville],” she told People in 2019. “Our house is always full of kids. Sometimes we have eight kids over for dinner after school. I’m so grateful.”
As the news of their separation settles, their nearly 20-year journey together remains marked by shared milestones, professional triumphs, and heartfelt memories.
