Kim Kardashian has shared a rare update on where she stands with her ex-husband, Kanye West, offering a more hopeful outlook on their relationship years after their divorce.
In a new interview with Complex published on Thursday, the 45-year-old reality star and SKIMS founder opened up about how her dynamic with the rapper has shifted since the end of their marriage. While their split was widely publicised and often surrounded by controversy, Kardashian suggested that the focus now is on maintaining peace and stability for their children.
“We’ll always be family,” Kim said, referring to the four children she shares with West: North, 12, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 6. “We both know that,” she added. “We will be okay, and there’s so much love for our family. We want what’s best for our kids.”

Her comments reflect a more grounded tone compared to earlier conversations about their relationship, which has faced challenges since the divorce was finalised in 2022 after seven years of marriage.
Kardashian has previously spoken about the emotional strain of co-parenting with West, especially as their children have grown older and become more aware of the world around them. In an October 2025 episode of The Kardashians, she admitted the situation had pushed her to her limits.
“I was pretty tested, I will say. Very tested,” the reality star said during the episode. She also revealed that the stress has taken a toll on her health, saying she experienced a flare-up of psoriasis.
“I mean, I have psoriasis again. I felt it. I mean, I felt more stressed, probably just because I had to super, super protect what I had to protect. My kids are involved now.”

Kardashian explained that while adults around her may be able to manage difficult situations, she draws the line when it comes to her children. “Everyone around can handle it, but like…protect my babies,” she continued. “They’re gonna know things. They’re gonna grow up. They’re gonna see.”
She added that her priority has always been to shield her children from unnecessary harm, especially during moments when public behaviour or headlines could impact them. “So my job as a mom is to just make sure that at a time when that behaviour is happening, I just to make sure that they are protected,” she said.
While Kardashian did not go into detail about West’s recent actions or their private conversations, her new interview suggests that the two are working toward a more functional co-parenting relationship. Her remarks also point to a shared understanding between them that, regardless of personal differences, their bond through their children will remain permanent.
