Jonathan Majors Reflects on Verdict in First Interview Since Guilty Finding in Assault Case

Jonathan Majors, recently convicted of misdemeanor assault and harassment against his former partner Grace Jabbari, broke his silence in his first interview since the verdict. Speaking on ABC’s Good Morning America, Majors expressed shock and confusion over the decision, which could result in a maximum one-year jail sentence.

Majors avoided taking responsibility for Jabbari’s injuries during the interview. ABC News Live “Prime” anchor Linsey Davis pressed him about the cause of the injuries, to which Majors replied ambiguously, “I wish that I knew.”

Further questioned about his role in Jabbari’s injuries, Majors shifted focus to his presence in the situation, suggesting that if he had not been in the car or the relationship, the incident might not have occurred. He refrained from directly acknowledging any responsibility for the injuries.

The charges stem from an incident on March 25, 2023, involving a physical altercation in a car. According to Jabbari’s testimony, Majors attempted to take her phone, resulting in physical harm. She described a struggle where Majors allegedly twisted her forearm, smacked her head, and later threw her back into the car.

Majors was found guilty of reckless assault in the third degree and harassment in the second degree after a two-week jury trial in December. The case has drawn significant attention, highlighting issues of domestic violence and the personal toll of public legal battles.
