WHO WAS YAPHET KOTTO’S WIFE AND DID THEY HAVE ANY CHILDREN?

Yaphet Kotto has sadly passed away. The actor died on Sunday, March 14, at the age of 81. The cause of his death was not revealed. Here’s a look at who was his wife and if they had any children.

Yaphet managed to make a name for himself in the industry, and to date, he is one of the most beloved and applauded actors. He managed to work his charm on the television and the big screen. Apart from acting, Yaphet was also interested in writing and has contributed to that field as well.

WHO WAS YAPHET KOTTO’S WIFE?
Yaphet was married to Tessie Sinahon. This was his third marriage. The pair got married in 1998. Tessie was the one who broke the news of Yaphet’s death. In a Facebook post, she shared the sad news with Yaphet’s fans.

“I’m saddened and still in shocked of the passing of my husband Yaphet of 24 years. He died last night around 10:30pm Philippine time,” she wrote wrote. “…You played a villain on some of your movies but for me you’re a real hero and to a lot of people also. A good man, a good father, a good husband and a decent human being, very rare to find. One of the best actor in Hollywood a Legend. Rest in Peace Honey, I’m gonna miss you everyday, my bestfriend, my rock.”

Tessie hinted Yaphet was looking forward to working on new projects and releasing his book. She did not reveal the cause of his death.

Yaphet was also married to Antoinette Pettyjohn and Rita Ingrid Dittman. However, those relationships soon came to an end. The reason behind the split is unknown.

DID YAPHET KOTTO HAVE ANY CHILDREN?
Yaphet was a proud father of six. He got married to Rita in 1959 and the pair went on to have three children. Unfortunately, their relationship did not last long as the pair got a divorce in 1976.

However, the actor did not give up on love as he went on to get married to Toni. He and Toni got married and had three children. The pair decided to split in 1998.

Yaphet kept his personal life away from the media and not a lot is known about his children.

TRIBUTES POUR IN ON TWITTER

Several users were shocked to hear the news of Yaphet’s death. They were quick to flood Twitter with tribute messages. “Damn. Just learned that we lost #YaphetKotto today. He was an amazing actor. So much talent,” read one comment.

Another added, “Live and Let Die is probably my favorite Roger Moore Bond movie, and Yaphet Kotto made for a great villain. And, of course, he was terrific in Alien. He will be sadly missed.”

“RIP Yaphet Kotto. What a legend and role model. He’ll never win any popularity contests but he is without a doubt one of the best actors to walk this earth. He was the best Bond villain and most people probably don’t even know who he is,” read another comment.
