Denise Richards is no longer staying quiet about the end of her marriage to Aaron Phypers. The actress and former star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills opened up on social media, saying she could not continue “to post on Instagram like nothing’s going on… because there’s something obviously going on.”
The 54-year-old shared an emotional video with her followers on Aug. 21, reflecting on the pain of facing a second divorce. “It’s so hard to go through a divorce,” Richards said in the video. “This isn’t my first one, it’s my second one, and I never thought I’d get divorced again. This is why I always say, ‘Never say never.’”
Richards avoided discussing specific details about the split. She did not address the temporary restraining order she was granted after accusing Phypers, 52, of physical abuse, allegations he has denied. Still, she acknowledged the weight of the situation.
“There are circumstances around my divorce that are difficult to talk about,” she explained. “One day I will talk about it, when the time is right.” Richards expressed gratitude for the support she has received from fans throughout the ordeal. “I just wanted to say thank you so much,” she shared. “It makes me want to cry seeing your messages, because this is a very difficult time, and you guys are all helping me through it.”

The actress, who shares daughters Sami, 21, and Lola, 20, with ex-husband Charlie Sheen and is also mom to 14-year-old Eloise, has been leaning on family and fans as she navigates this period.
Phypers, whom Richards married in 2018 in a wedding featured on season nine of RHOBH, filed for divorce on July 7, citing “irreconcilable differences.” In court documents, he requested spousal support and claimed he has not earned income since closing his business earlier in 2024. He also estimated Richards’ monthly income to be more than $250,000, pointing to brand deals, television appearances, and her OnlyFans page.
For now, Richards is choosing honesty and openness over silence. Though she has made clear that some details will remain private for the time being, she has assured fans that she will share more when she feels ready. Her message carried both vulnerability and resilience, offering a glimpse into how she is handling one of the most challenging moments of her life.
