Brandon Blackstock, the former husband of music superstar Kelly Clarkson, has died at the age of 48 following a private battle with cancer that lasted more than three years. The heartbreaking announcement came just days after Clarkson postponed several concerts to care for their two children.
Blackstock was the father of River, 11, and Remington, 9, whom he shared with the Grammy-winning singer. Clarkson and Blackstock first met in 2012 and were married in 2013, enjoying seven years together before divorcing in 2020. During their marriage, Blackstock also served as Clarkson’s manager, a role connected to his family background—he was the son of Narvel Blackstock, who had previously managed Clarkson’s career.

Earlier this week, the “Where Have You Been” singer also cancelled a planned performance in Los Angeles to remain with her children. Clarkson addressed fans directly, stating, “While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.”
