Dad’s Girlfriend Allegedly Killed 6-Year-Old Daughter & Stashed Body in Bucket of Bleach

A shocking incident took place in Louisiana when a 6-year-old girl, Bella Fontenelle, was allegedly killed by her father’s live-in girlfriend, 43-year-old Bunnak “Hannah” Landon. It’s reported that Landon strangled the child and put her body in a 10-gallon bucket of bleach. Video footage captured by a doorbell camera purportedly reveals the woman’s abhorrent act that has sent shockwaves through their community.

On April 26, Bella’s lifeless body was found in her mother’s front yard in Harahan. Landon reportedly had a contentious relationship with Bella’s mother, Jennifer Zeledon. However, the motives leading to Bella’s tragic demise remain unclear.

After discovering his daughter missing, Bella’s father, Michael Fontenelle, alerted the police on the same day. Bella’s body was found shortly thereafter in a bleach bucket at her mother’s home. An autopsy, performed by Jefferson Parish Coroner Dr. Gerry Cvitanovich, concluded that the cause of Bella’s death was strangulation and blunt force trauma to the head.

Surveillance footage reportedly shows Landon pulling a bucket toward Zeledon’s house late in the evening on April 25. Authorities believe the murder took place at Bella’s father’s residence before her body was transported to her mother’s house.

Upon learning about Bella’s murder, Landon appeared at police headquarters past midnight on April 26. Although she was later put under suicide watch at Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna, authorities have not disclosed the reason for her hospital evaluation.

Reports reveal that Landon and Zeledon had a history of physical altercations, leading to a temporary restraining order filed in 2021. Bianca Cano, Bella’s aunt, took to Facebook to assert that Landon was the true aggressor and that her sister, Zeledon, was blameless.

In the aftermath of Bella’s death, Cano set up a GoFundMe campaign for the family, raising over $41,000. Numerous donors expressed their condolences and love for the family, mourning the loss of the young girl.

Landon is currently held without bond at Jefferson Parish Correctional Center. She faces charges of first-degree murder and obstruction of justice and is due to appear in court in July.
