Netflix has now confirmed that a docuseries about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry is in the works after months of rumors and speculation. In fact, they released a very dramatic video yesterday, and it appears like the royal circle is spiraling.
Royal expert Richard Eden told the Daily Mail that “I’ve heard from friends of Prince William and Catherine today, and they’ve been frankly sickened by what’s appeared in this video.” Specifically, they’re upset about “the use of William and Catherine and the image and the way it’s presented.”
The picture of William and Kate in the teaser comes from Commonwealth Day (March 2019). It looks to be a shot of Meghan sobbing, and it comes directly before a tape of Prince Harry saying, “I had to do everything I could to protect my family.”
Meanwhile, Eden says that the timing of Meghan and Harry’s trailer “could hardly be worse” thanks to William and Kate being in the middle of their Boston trip. “I think the royal family will be waiting nervously to see what’s in it next week, you know,” he said, adding, “I think there’s going to be a lot of nerves in the palaces this evening.”
Aside from their presence in the trailer, Meghan and Harry haven’t indicated that they want to discuss their tense relationship with William and Kate in any way. So, yes, I’m not sure there’s anything for these royal insiders to be concerned about! Meanwhile, Wills and Kate have no plans to meet up with the Sussexes while they’re in the US for the next few days, so don’t expect a stressful group photo anytime soon!
