Alex Rodriguez Has ‘Come to Terms’ With Jennifer Lopez Reconciliation Not Happening

Jennifer Lopez’s ex-fiancé Alex Rodriguez has watched Bennifer’s renewed romance unfold too, and now, according to Entertainment Tonight, A-Rod has accepted that his high hopes of getting back together with Lopez aren’t coming to fruition.

When Rodriguez and Lopez initially announced their breakup after four years together, a source told E! that Lopez had chosen to end their engagement. Rodriguez hadn’t given up on them then though: “He is respecting her wishes right now, but has high hopes they will get back together,” a source close to Lopez told E! on April 15, the same day they released their breakup statement. “He’s doing anything in his power to make J.Lo happy.”

Two weeks later, Lopez was seen with Ben Affleck for the first time. Now, they’re kissing at restaurants, Affleck is spending time with her family, and Lopez is planning a move to Los Angeles.

And A-Rod, a source told Entertainment Tonight, is no longer trying to convince himself that he and Lopez could still reconcile. As the outlet’s source explained, “When they first split, he wanted to work things out, and still held on to hope that he and J.Lo would get back together. He’s come to terms with the fact that it’s over now.” That source added that Rodriguez is “very aware of all of the attention” Bennifer’s romance has garnered. But he is “trying to focus on himself and what’s in store for his future”.
