Bmw will Sell Cars Online

Bmw Cars Online

The luxury car segment has never seen anything such as the concept of online car sales, a concept now to be explored by automaker BMW. The Germany-based company will is going to embark on the journey of selling cars online with the launch of its electrified i3 city car and the i8 sports car, which would set out sometime next year. The cars would be offered by BMW online as well as through dealerships. The decision to sell cars online was launched with the possibility of reducing costs as the vast dealer network would be automatically eliminated. The only setback here is that customers will not be able to test drive the cars.

This is one of the reasons why the concept of online car sales might take a slump. A scheme such as this could be a problem in the US where automakers are not allowed to sell cars directly to customers in most states. As an attempt to publicize the new models, BMW would be taking a BMW iBorn Electric Tour that kick started in Rome, Italy recently and is en route to six other major cities over the next 12 months.
