Prince Harry’s relationship with his cousin Princess Beatrice may have reached a difficult point, according to a royal commentator who believes their previously close friendship has deteriorated.
The Duke of Sussex and Princess Beatrice were once widely considered to share a warm bond. However, recent public appearances by the princess have prompted speculation about where she now stands in relation to Harry and Meghan Markle.
Charlotte Griffiths, Editor at Large of the Mail, claimed that the friendship between Harry and Beatrice is either “over” or has been temporarily damaged. Her comments followed reports that Beatrice had been seen socialising with broadcaster Piers Morgan, a frequent and outspoken critic of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The appearance attracted attention because Morgan has repeatedly criticised the couple since they stepped back from their roles as senior working members of the royal family and moved to California.
Speaking on the True Royalty Podcast, Griffiths discussed Beatrice’s recent outings amid continuing controversy surrounding members of the York family.

“I would have thought she’d be lying low, but instead she’s gone to this incredibly fashionable restaurant and mingled with, actually, some medium rent celebrities like Kelly Brook,” Charlotte said.
Griffiths also referred to photographs and reports showing Beatrice in Morgan’s company, suggesting that the meeting could be interpreted as a sign of distance between the princess and her cousin.
“I thought that was very telling because, of course, Piers Morgan is her cousin Prince Harry’s absolute nemesis. So any friendship she has with Prince Harry is effectively over from this moment,” Charlotte explained.
The claim has not been publicly confirmed by either Harry or Beatrice, and there is no official indication that the cousins have formally ended their relationship. The assessment appears to be based on Beatrice’s public association with Morgan rather than on direct comments from members of the royal family.
The speculation comes after reports that Harry and Meghan had expressed sympathy for Beatrice and Princess Eugenie amid the continuing difficulties involving their parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.

Beatrice has generally avoided publicly discussing tensions within the royal family and has not commented on her relationship with the Sussexes. She has also continued to attend public and private events while balancing her family life with her royal and charitable responsibilities.
Although Beatrice’s interaction with Morgan has been described by some commentators as significant, it remains unclear whether the meeting has affected her personal relationship with Harry.
For now, claims of a rift remain based on commentary and public appearances rather than statements from the cousins themselves.
