Royal Commentator Claims Meghan And Harry Face Mounting Missteps And Growing Isolation

Meghan Markle is facing renewed criticism after a prominent royal commentator argued that she has not helped guide Prince Harry through life in the United States. The comments suggest the couple’s public image has suffered as professional setbacks continue to pile up.

Tina Brown, a well-known writer and royal observer, offered her blunt assessment in remarks cited by The Daily Beast. She said, “I have never seen anybody in professional life make as many mistakes as Meghan has. And unfortunately, Harry is not the brightest bulb, either.” Brown added that Harry believed Meghan would serve as “his great sort of guide in the big, wide world beyond Buckingham Palace, as it were.”

According to Brown, that expectation has not played out the way Harry imagined. “It turns out that Meghan makes one terrible professional decision after another,” she said. She argued that the repeated missteps have led to a growing sense of distance between the Sussexes and audiences on both sides of the Atlantic.

The couple now appears, in her words, like “pariahs everywhere, it seems, which is a very difficult situation for them because America was supposed to be the place that paid the bills.” These remarks arrive at a moment when the couple’s public trajectory is under renewed scrutiny.

Reports have suggested that Harry and Meghan may be experiencing what some observers describe as a fall from grace after years of mixed reception, strategic pivots, and projects that have not always delivered the outcomes they expected.

A separate source speaking to Heat World painted a similar picture. According to the outlet, “Meghan was telling everyone that her brand was going to be the next Martha Stewart, but it’s just been one roadblock after another for the brand.” The comment reflects the ongoing pressure surrounding the couple’s commercial ventures, including Meghan’s lifestyle projects and the pair’s wider media efforts.

Although neither Harry nor Meghan has addressed Brown’s claims, the commentary adds fuel to the ongoing debate about the couple’s direction since stepping back from royal duties in 2020. Their move to California was framed as a fresh start, offering more independence and a chance to build a new identity outside the constraints of palace life.

Instead, the conversation around them often centers on stalled projects, shifting public sentiment, and questions about their long-term plans. Brown’s remarks highlight just how far the narrative has moved from the optimism that surrounded their early months in the United States. Whether the couple can reshape that narrative remains to be seen, but the scrutiny surrounding their next steps continues to intensify.
