Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson are reportedly in no rush to vacate the Royal Lodge in Windsor, despite King Charles’s directive for them to leave the residence. The couple, who have lived in the sprawling property for years, are said to be taking their time due to the sheer amount of belongings accumulated inside the mansion.
A source speaking to The Mirror revealed that the move will be far from quick. “The Amazon deliveries that go up to Royal Lodge are unbelievable. There are rooms full of boxes that haven’t even been opened,” the insider claimed. “It will take weeks, if not months, to shift all their s*** out,” they added, suggesting that the process could stretch well into the new year.
The Royal Lodge, located in Windsor Great Park, has been Andrew’s long-time residence since the early 2000s. He has shared the home with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, even after their 1996 divorce. The property became a focal point in recent months after reports surfaced that King Charles wanted Andrew to relocate as part of ongoing efforts to streamline royal expenses and housing arrangements.

While Andrew has resisted leaving the 30-room mansion, speculation continues about where he might move next. Reports suggest that the disgraced royal could be considering a move to the United Arab Emirates, where he would enjoy more privacy and distance from public scrutiny.
A staff member from one of the royal palaces in the UAE told The Sun that the environment there would suit Andrew’s desire for seclusion. “The whole area is private and very secure. The public is not allowed in and there are cameras that log every vehicle that approaches,” the worker explained. “The area is effectively under the radar. We have not heard anything official yet about Andrew moving in, but he would enjoy it here because it is very private.”
Andrew’s position within the royal family has been uncertain since he stepped back from public duties in 2019 following his ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. His reputation further declined after he reached a legal settlement with Virginia Giuffre, who accused him of sexual assault—allegations he has consistently denied.

As of now, no official timeline has been set for when Andrew and Ferguson will vacate Royal Lodge. Insiders suggest the couple’s attachment to the estate and the logistical challenge of clearing decades’ worth of possessions are delaying the inevitable move.
