Jamie Foxx jumped to defend rapper GloRilla after someone threw a glass bottle at her during his daughter’s Halloween-themed music festival. The Oscar-winning actor stepped in when the incident interrupted her set at Skvlk Fest, an event organized by his 17-year-old daughter, Anelise Foxx.
A video shared on X showed the 57-year-old actor taking the stage moments after the bottle was thrown mid-performance. Clearly upset, Foxx addressed the crowd directly, demanding respect for the artists and the event.
“Why would you do something like that?” he shouted into the microphone. “Why would you throw something at the stage, man? This is for free.” He went on, “Y’all don’t deserve this s—. That’s f—– up, bro. I’m so disappointed. I love y’all but hate whoever the f— that was. That ain’t cool, bro. You throw some s— at my house? That ain’t cool.”
Despite the disruption, GloRilla, 26, paused briefly before continuing her set and finishing the show strong. Neither Foxx nor GloRilla has commented publicly about the incident since, but the actor later took to Instagram to celebrate his daughter’s milestone and the success of her first major event.
Sharing behind-the-scenes videos featuring performers such as Tyga and Leon Thomas, Foxx praised Anelise’s hard work and determination in bringing her dream festival to life.
“This is just a little taste of what was going on behind the scenes … my daughter, @anelisefoxx, has always wanted to throw the biggest party in the world,” Foxx wrote. “When she was a little kid, that was her dream and aspiration … it is now coming true. The first annual @skvlkfest was amazing!!”
Foxx, who shares Anelise with his ex, Kristin Grannis, expressed pride in watching her achieve what she had envisioned years earlier. He followed up with a series of Instagram posts celebrating the event’s energy and success. “Yoooooooo the night was epic!!!! @skvlkfest festival was poppin!!! The best energy on the planet!!!” Foxx captioned one post. “The kids make it iconic!!! @anelisefoxx you have created something magical!!! don’t miss out next year.”
In another post, he wrote, “@jyoungmdk had the night lit!!!! The energy is unmatched at the @skvlkfest courtesy of @anelisefoxx !!!… and shout out to all the kids that came and turned up!!!”
Foxx wrapped up his celebration with a final tribute to both his daughter and friend Tyga. “@skvlkfest was lit!!!! @anelisefoxx you did it again!!!!!! Biggest Halloween party in the world!!!! @tyga once again took the roof off!!!”
The night, despite its brief moment of chaos, ultimately became a proud and memorable event for Foxx — both as a performer’s defender and a father watching his daughter’s dream come to life.
