Josh Allen Says Marrying Hailee Steinfeld Is His Greatest Win in Life

Josh Allen says his most meaningful victory didn’t happen on the football field but when he married actress Hailee Steinfeld. Still, the Buffalo Bills quarterback made it clear that football will remain a big part of his life for years to come.

In a heartfelt interview with ESPN’s Marty Smith that aired on October 13, the 29-year-old NFL star opened up about how marriage has changed his perspective and helped him see himself beyond the game. “That I am more than a football player,” Josh said. “My whole dream as a kid has been to be in this position, and I’ve never thought of anything outside of that or beyond that.”

Allen and Steinfeld tied the knot in May after two years of dating, and he described the moment as a turning point in his life. Calling their wedding “the most important day” of his life, he said that building a home with Hailee has been his “most fulfilling” chapter yet.

“My wife is an unbelievable, undeniable rockstar, in her work, in her life as a person,” he shared proudly. “She’s everything I need in my life.”

While marriage has given him a new sense of purpose, Allen emphasized that his love for football remains as strong as ever. “I hope I still get to play this game for a very long time,” he said, showing his continued commitment to the Bills and the sport that defined his childhood dreams.

Hailee, 28, has also spoken about how their relationship has brought balance to their busy lives. In an interview with Variety earlier this month, the Pitch Perfect and Dickinson actress explained that marriage has encouraged her to slow down and focus on what truly matters. “What we do is so unpredictable, and his job is on such a strict schedule,” she said. “So it’s actually a blessing—I try to organize my time so I can be where he is.”

For now, Steinfeld is taking a break from filming to spend more time with her husband during the NFL season. “This time of year, I get to hunker down, slow down, support him and live life,” she said. “When the offseason rolls around, it’s go-time for me.”

As Allen continues leading the Bills through the 2025 season, he credits his marriage with giving him the grounding and perspective to thrive both on and off the field.
