Kim Kardashian is brushing aside Kanye West’s frustration over their daughter North’s fashion choices, choosing instead to publicly celebrate her 12-year-old’s creativity and confidence.
Radar Online reported that the Grammy-winning rapper is furious with the Kardashian star for encouraging North’s bold sense of style. Sources claimed he is so upset that he is prepared to “raise hell with the lawyers.” But Kim is not backing down and has made it clear she supports her daughter’s individuality.
In a TikTok with Complex Style posted on September 29, the SKIMS founder gushed about North’s personality and approach to fashion, describing it as one of her favorite aspects of motherhood.
“She teaches me a lot. So she has a really unique style. She puts me on to so many brands, like she just loves what she loves,” Kim said. “And it’s just really fun to see someone be so creative. And also know herself so much.”
Kim also recalled a short-lived period when North tried dressing more traditionally to fit in with friends, but the experiment ended quickly. “She wore something that was really girly. And she was like, ‘Whoa, wait, this isn’t me,’” Kim explained. “She realised quick, like, ‘This isn’t me,’ and I love that for her.”
North’s go-to wardrobe now consists of jerseys, oversized T-shirts, and jorts. Kim said her daughter feels most comfortable leaning into a tomboy-inspired look rather than following trends.
That self-assurance was on full display during the Venice Film Festival in August. North made headlines with an outfit that mixed punk and glamour — a pinstriped dress held together with oversized safety pins, chunky boots, and spiked socks.
For Kim, moments like these reflect her daughter’s authenticity and fearlessness. The proud mom described North’s style as not only a form of self-expression but also a reflection of how strongly she already knows herself.
The co-parents, who finalized their divorce in 2022, continue to clash over family matters, with fashion choices being one of the latest points of contention. While West has voiced disapproval, Kim appears determined to allow her daughter the freedom to explore her identity.
Rather than giving weight to her ex-husband’s criticism, Kim is focusing on fostering North’s creativity and celebrating her individuality. By embracing her daughter’s bold choices, she is signaling that style, for North, is less about appearances and more about confidence, independence, and staying true to herself.
