Prince William reportedly rejects reconciliation with Harry and Meghan despite the King’s olive branch

Tensions within the royal family remain high, with new reports suggesting that Prince William has no intention of reconciling with his younger brother, Prince Harry.

The claims surfaced following Harry’s recent interview with The Guardian in Ukraine. According to a report by RadarOnline, William has privately dismissed the idea of peace talks, allegedly saying reconciliation would only happen “when hell freezes over.”

A Windsor family friend told the outlet that even Catherine, Princess of Wales, has been unable to sway William’s thinking. “Kate has quietly encouraged him to consider making peace,” the source explained. “William usually takes her advice, but when it comes to Harry, he has said reconciliation will only happen when hell freezes over.”

The latest reports also accuse Harry and Meghan Markle of being “totally motivated by self-interest.” A palace aide claimed William believes his brother and sister-in-law are using their royal connections for influence. “William thinks they are clinging to their titles and trying to grab whatever influence they can while the King is still here.

He despises the fact that Charles is indulging them,” the aide alleged. King Charles, however, appears to have taken a more conciliatory approach. Earlier this year, Harry reportedly extended an olive branch to his father, who accepted and invited him for tea at Clarence House. The meeting lasted about an hour, but William was notably absent.

Palace insiders suggest William was “livid” about the encounter, viewing Charles’s willingness to meet Harry as naive. “To him it looks naive and risky,” one aide said. The strained relationship between the brothers has been a central theme in recent years, intensified by Harry and Meghan’s decision to step back from royal duties in 2020 and their subsequent public criticisms of the institution.

While Charles has signaled an interest in maintaining some form of connection with his youngest son, William’s stance appears far more rigid. Observers note that William’s hardline position could complicate any long-term effort at reconciliation within the family. The divide not only affects the brothers but also casts a shadow over the monarchy’s public image, particularly as King Charles seeks stability during his reign.

For now, insiders say there are no signs of a breakthrough. William, despite his wife’s gentle encouragement, seems unwilling to soften his position, leaving the rift between the brothers unresolved. As royal watchers speculate about the family’s future, the tension underscores the ongoing challenge of balancing private grievances with the expectations of public unity.
