Elizabeth Hurley has revealed that her partner, country music legend Billy Ray Cyrus, is giving her guitar lessons as their relationship continues to flourish.
The 60-year-old actress and model went public with her romance with Cyrus earlier this year. Speaking to Hello! magazine, Hurley shared that she is taking on the challenge of learning music from her well-known partner.
“I’ve been in England all summer for the first time ever and have loved every moment. Billy is teaching me to play the guitar; right now I’m appalling, but I’m hoping to improve!” she admitted with a laugh.
Hurley, who celebrated her milestone 60th birthday in June, also reflected on how she marked the occasion. Surrounded by family and close friends, she enjoyed a quiet celebration at home. Her son Damian baked a cake, adding a personal touch to the special day.
“This year has been such a whirlwind that it was wonderful to sit back and be spoiled for a few days,” she said. “I hibernated at home with some of my best friends and family. My son baked a delicious cake and we all sat around giggling and being silly, which is my favourite occupation.”
Known for her iconic roles in films like Bedazzled and her enduring presence on screen, Hurley admitted that work has always been a dominant part of her life. “I’ve always enjoyed work more than play and have much more fun at work than doing anything social. I’m more relaxed on a film set than anywhere else,” she explained.
However, she acknowledged the challenges that have come with such dedication to her career. “Without doubt, this has meant that I’ve struggled with a work-life balance since I started in the industry, so I make a conscious effort now to really enjoy spending more time at home with my family and friends and not just skip from job to job,” she concluded.
Cyrus, best known for his hit single Achy Breaky Heart and more recently for his work alongside daughter Miley Cyrus, appears to be offering Hurley a new creative outlet through music. Their relationship has drawn attention as an unexpected but warmly received pairing, blending Hollywood glamour with country charm.
