Meghan Markle Could Be Couple’s “Secret Weapon” as New Season of Lifestyle Show Looms

While speculation has swirled that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are parting ways with the platform, insiders now claim that Netflix executives remain open to continuing their collaboration—if the couple can deliver a compelling new project.

According to Mail Online, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos continues to back the royal couple, particularly Meghan Markle, whose individual ventures may hold the key to reviving their partnership. One industry insider even called Sarandos’ support for Meghan a “secret weapon.”

Reporter Alison Boshoff revealed, “There will be a third series of the Duchess’s lifestyle show With Love, Meghan, if she wants to make one. And I hear she does.” The show, which focuses on wellness, food, and sustainable living, has been a focal point of Meghan’s solo branding efforts since stepping back from royal duties.

However, despite this potential opportunity, doubts remain over whether a new series or project will move forward. Boshoff noted that Netflix may still be waiting for the right creative pitch. “Many believe they will just go on ice – forever as the Sussex team has not yet come up with a script which appeals enough to Netflix bosses Ted Sarandos and Bela Bajaria to get the green light,” the outlet stated.

The couple’s original multi-year deal with Netflix, signed in 2020, was intended to produce documentaries, feature films, scripted series, and children’s programming. While their docuseries Harry & Meghan garnered strong initial viewership, follow-up projects have been sparse and met with mixed reviews.

Insiders say Netflix’s willingness to extend the partnership hinges on the Sussexes presenting a concept that aligns with the platform’s content strategy and audience expectations. Meghan and Harry, who now reside in California with their two children, have continued to pursue independent projects while seeking to define their public identities outside of the royal institution.

If the Duchess decides to pursue another season of With Love, Meghan, it could serve as a fresh launch point to revitalize the couple’s creative brand and cement their presence in Hollywood. For now, all eyes are on whether the Sussexes can pitch a winning concept—or if their time with Netflix has quietly reached its final act.
