Trump Dismisses Epstein Allegations as ‘Democrat Hoax’ in Online Tirade

President Donald Trump has labeled ongoing scrutiny over his past connections to Jeffrey Epstein as a politically motivated “scam,” intensifying his pushback against renewed interest in the controversial relationship. In a flurry of posts on his Truth Social platform on Thursday, Trump accused “Radical Left Democrats” of orchestrating a smear campaign to divert attention from what he described as unprecedented presidential accomplishments.

“The Radical Left Democrats are doing everything in their power to distract and obfuscate from our GREAT six months of service to America, results of which many are saying are the BEST six months in Presidential history,” Trump wrote.

The remarks follow a Wall Street Journal report last week that resurfaced claims about a letter Trump allegedly sent to Epstein for his 50th birthday. The note reportedly contained the cryptic message: “May every day be another wonderful secret.” Trump quickly dismissed the report, calling the letter “fake” and vowing to file a $10 billion lawsuit against the publication, which is owned by media mogul Rupert Murdoch, a former ally.

“They have gone absolutely CRAZY, and are playing another Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax but, this time, under the guise of what we will call the Jeffrey Epstein SCAM,” Trump said in another post. His comments came shortly after Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche confirmed on social media that he had visited Ghislaine Maxwell in prison on Thursday.

Maxwell is serving a 20-year sentence following her 2021 conviction for recruiting underage girls for Epstein. Blanche stated he would meet with her again on Friday, adding, “The Department of Justice will share additional information about what we learned at the appropriate time.”

Trump appeared to respond directly to Blanche’s post, writing, “As things are revealed and, I hope, will take place quickly, you will see that it is yet another Democrat CON JOB. Hopefully, the Grand Jury Files will put an end to this HOAX. Everyone should see what is there, but people who are innocent should not be hurt. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Despite Trump’s insistence that the issue is politically motivated, the Epstein connection has sparked concern among some of his supporters. On Tuesday, when asked about the Department of Justice’s renewed focus on Maxwell, Trump deflected, stating, “I don’t really follow that too much,” and instead referenced an alleged 2016 election plot involving Barack Obama.

Later that day, Trump added on Truth Social, “We had the Greatest Six Months of any President in the History of our Country, and all the Fake News wants to talk about is the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax!”

When the Wall Street Journal reported that Attorney General Pam Bondi told Trump in May that his name appeared multiple times in Epstein’s files, White House communications director Steven Cheung replied on his behalf: “This is another fake news story, just like the previous story by the Wall Street Journal.”
