Prince Harry and King Charles might finally come face-to-face again this fall—but as with all royal family drama, it isn’t very easy.
According to royal commentator Kinsey Schofield, the estranged father and son could have a brief reunion this September during the annual WellChild Awards, a UK charity event that Harry has long supported. Speaking with Sky News Australia, Schofield shared that, “It could happen in September, during the WellChild Awards. A quick meet and greet with King Charles and Prince Harry, depending on the king’s schedule.”
If it happens, this would mark their first in-person meeting since February, when Harry flew to London shortly after news broke that King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer.
But don’t expect this reunion to be warm and fuzzy just yet.
Behind the scenes, things are getting messy again. Schofield claimed that the Sussexes may have leaked details of a recent hush-hush “peace summit” between the royals, suggesting this is why the King should think twice before meeting up with Harry and Meghan. “I do believe the Sussexes leaked this story, which goes to prove they can’t be trusted,” she told Sky News Australia. “Why would the king risk anything by meeting with Harry or Meghan, and have Harry and Meghan, or their friends, discuss what happened at that meeting?”
So what exactly was this peace summit everyone is whispering about? According to a report by Menz Mag, representatives for both Prince Harry and King Charles quietly met in an attempt to smooth things over behind closed doors. But almost as soon as the meeting happened, word got out. The story and even a few photos made their way into the press, setting off a wave of accusations and stirring up fresh royal drama.

However, The Telegraph paints a different picture. Their sources claim that Harry and Meghan were actually “frustrated” that news of the secret meeting leaked, suggesting the leak didn’t originate from their side.
It’s the latest twist in what’s become a years-long saga of strained royal relations, ever since Harry and Meghan stepped down from their royal duties in 2020 and relocated to California. Tensions have flared over their bombshell interviews, Netflix documentaries, and Harry’s memoir Spare, which didn’t hold back when it came to family grievances.
So will the King and his youngest son meet next month? Maybe. But with so much history, trust issues, and headlines constantly swirling around them, even a five-minute conversation could become international news.
At the end of the day, both Harry and Charles have publicly expressed a desire to move forward. But whether they can do it in private—without the royal drama playing out in tabloids—is the real challenge.
