Teen Girl Fatally Stabbed in Bronx After Water Fight Turns Deadly

What started as a teen argument turned into a deadly tragedy outside a neighborhood deli in the Bronx—and now a community is mourning a young life lost far too soon.

On Tuesday, around 4 p.m., 16-year-old Aliyah Williams was stabbed to death near the corner of Boston Road and Mickle Avenue in the Williamsbridge section of the Bronx. According to law enforcement sources, the fight broke out between Williams and another girl, during which Aliyah allegedly threw water. That’s when, they say, the other girl pulled a knife, as reported by ABC7NY.

Aliyah was stabbed multiple times in the head and body. She lived just a short walk from where the attack happened.

Her family is devastated—and still searching for answers. They believe Aliyah may have been lured to the spot but say they don’t know who would have wanted to hurt her.

“She’s a beautiful kid, nice child—good behaving, too,” said her heartbroken grandmother, Rose Anderson, in a statement to Fox New York. “It’s sad, really sad, to take someone’s life like that.”

The 17-year-old girl accused in the stabbing was arrested the following evening, on Wednesday, and has been charged with murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon, according to the NYPD. No weapon has been recovered yet. Police are still scouring the scene, searching under cars and in storm drains for any sign of it.

Neighbors say they’re rattled by the violence and are left wondering how things escalated so quickly.

“Is it that serious that I have to kill you? To get a point across?” said Brian Jenkins, a nearby resident who spoke with ABC 7 New York.

Another neighbor mentioned that kids often gather in the area and run back and forth along the block. “It’s just scary,” he added.

The intersection where it happened isn’t known for this kind of violence, making the incident even more disturbing for locals and parents alike. The NYPD is continuing its investigation, canvassing the area and talking to witnesses.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.

As the community tries to process the senseless loss, Aliyah’s family is left to grieve—and to try and understand what led to a teen confrontation ending in such unimaginable violence.
