Prince William Will ‘Never, Ever Forgive’ Harry, Says Friend

Despite King Charles’ recent effort to initiate peace talks with Prince Harry, Prince William reportedly remains unforgiving and deeply opposed to any form of reconciliation with his younger brother. According to new reports, the Prince of Wales was kept in the dark about the informal peace summit held between representatives of King Charles and Prince Harry.

The secret meeting, which took place on a private club terrace in London, was intended to lay the groundwork for healing the fractured relationship between father and son. However, William’s exclusion from the talks suggests that tensions between the royal brothers remain unresolved. Sources claim that William only learned of the meeting after it was reported in the media, when photographs of Harry and Charles’ senior aides appeared in Sunday’s newspapers.

“William reading about the meeting in Sunday’s papers will not go down well,” an insider told the Daily Beast. The source suggested that the Prince of Wales and his team were not invited to take part in the discussions, underlining the ongoing estrangement between the brothers.

The divide appears far from healing. A friend of Prince William stated bluntly, “William will never, ever forgive Harry for what he has done.” They added, “Charles is the King; he can do what he likes. But make no mistake: William believes with every fibre of his being that giving Harry and Meghan back any royal imprimatur is a huge mistake.”

The comments reflect the deep personal and institutional rift caused by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s departure from royal duties in 2020, and their subsequent public criticisms of the Royal Family in interviews, documentaries, and Harry’s memoir Spare. While King Charles appears open to repairing his relationship with Harry, William’s stance remains firmly resistant.

The secretive nature of the meeting further fuels speculation that the palace is attempting to move forward with Harry, without William’s consent or cooperation. Prince Harry was reportedly represented at the meeting by Meredith Maines, his chief communications officer and head of his household in Montecito, California, as well as Liam Maguire, head of the Sussexes’ PR operations in the UK. Representing the King was his communications secretary, Tobyn Andreae.

Although the gathering was intended to be an informal step toward reconciliation, its impact may have inadvertently deepened the rift within the royal family, particularly between the two brothers, whose relationship remains deeply strained. Whether future talks will involve William—or if he would even be willing to attend—remains uncertain. For now, royal watchers see little sign of a family reunion on the horizon.
