Brad Pitt just had a serious scare. The Hollywood actor is reportedly beefing up security at his $5.5 million Los Feliz home after intruders broke in while he was away.
The incident went down on Wednesday, June 25, when three burglars allegedly managed to scale the fence of his property and get in through the front windows. Reports say they were inside for less than ten minutes, but it was enough time to ransack the place and take off with some of Pitt’s personal belongings. What exactly was stolen hasn’t been revealed yet, but the LAPD is actively investigating.

With Pitt not home during the break-in, it’s unclear whether the burglars knew his whereabouts. Either way, the response has been swift. According to The U.S. Sun, Pitt now has security guards posted around the clock at the property.
“Neighborhood security was at the house about an hour before it happened,” a source told The U.S. Sun. “He has personal security that was always there when he was in residence, but now he has guards there all the time.”

Apparently, the house was pretty easy to access, which has been a concern among locals for a while. The source added, “Locals did worry about the fact Brad didn’t put up a good fence or a hedge, and the home was fairly easy to access.” The intruders reportedly jumped the fence just as neighborhood security ended its shift. “It was really unfortunate,” the source said.
As for the cost of 24/7 protection, the source quipped that Pitt has “enough cash” to cover it.
Pitt has been living at the property, known as “The Steel House,” since April 2023 after selling his larger Los Feliz estate for $33 million. The 2,000-square-foot home was purchased from oil heiress Aileen Getty and features a sleek mid-century design, complete with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, floor-to-ceiling glass walls, a sauna, a pool, and an open L-shaped layout. He shares the home with his girlfriend, Ines de Ramon, 32. The couple has been together since late 2022.

This break-in comes as Pitt continues his messy legal feud with ex-wife Angelina Jolie. The pair are locked in a bitter dispute over Château Miraval, the French vineyard they once co-owned. Pitt has accused Jolie of violating their agreement by selling her share to Tenute del Mondo, a part of the Stoli Group. He’s now asking that Jolie’s business entity, Nouvel LLC, be forced to take part in a deposition detailing how that sale went down. He’s also pushing for access to emails between Jolie and Stoli Group executive Alexey Oliynik.
While all of this plays out in court, Pitt is reportedly trying to reconnect with his children, especially the younger ones. Sources told the Daily Mail that Pitt still considers family a huge part of his life and wants to make peace. He’s even reached out to twins Knox and Vivienne as they approach their 17th birthday, hoping for a fresh start—but hasn’t gotten a response yet.
“Brad’s desperate to give it one final shot to get together with them and make amends, even though he knows the chance they’ll agree to spend time with him is remote, to say the least,” a source told the outlet.
Vivienne recently dropped “Pitt” from her surname, something he reportedly found heartbreaking. But Knox still using the Jolie-Pitt name has given him a small “glimmer of hope.”
